Convert Words to Bytes
A word is a memory unit commonly used by many FEA programs such as Abaqus and LS-DYNA. Computer systems usually report the installed available memory as units of bytes. For example, a computer has 64 GB of RAM.
To help optimize the memory requirements of large FEA models on high performance computing (HPC) systems, this calculator will convert words to bytes for various computer architectures. Most modern systems are 64-bit.
Be sure to select the correct computer architecture of either 32 or 64-bit.
